5th Graders Thrive at Hopewood Pines Camp

Last week, the 5th grade classes from Norwalk Catholic and Monroeville St. Joe’s had an exciting experience at Environmental Camp held at Hopewood Pines. From Wednesday through Friday, students spent their days outdoors, exploring and learning about God’s creation. Activities included a challenge course, outdoor survival skills, stream exploration to catch fish and observe wildlife, a campfire, a dance, and a special Mass.

Throughout the camp, students were encouraged to have zero food waste at each meal. Impressively, they started with just 0.3 pounds of waste at their first meal with 60 participants—and by the final meal, they achieved zero food waste!
