8th Grade Class Embarks on Unforgettable Washington D.C. Adventure

The 8th grade class embarked on their annual Washington D.C. trip from March 17th- 20th, with 56 students and 21 chaperones making the journey. Highlights of the trip included visits to Mt. Vernon, the Smithsonian Museums, the National Shrine and the Holocaust Museum. The group also toured the Lincoln, Jefferson, Vietnam, Korean, and World War II Memorials. The trip concluded with a visit to the Gettysburg Battlefield Park, and a stop at the Flight 93 Memorial, making for an unforgettable adventure.  Eighth grader Abe Linder shared his experience on the trip.

"The Washington DC trip was an incredible experience! I loved seeing all the amazing landmarks throughout the city. Mixing time with friends and enjoying the sites made it my favorite trip ever.  The trip was designed for us to experience many things from our own perspective and the amount of freedom we had was refreshing.  We were encouraged to be independent and enjoy the trip in our own way while still learning a lot about our country and our government.

What I appreciated most was being able to choose activities and spend time with friends, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We were surrounded by familiar faces, sharing in the excitement of discovering beautiful sites together. The pictures we took are stunning, and when I brought them home, I realized they’d be filled with priceless memories that I’ll cherish for a lifetime.   The DC trip was unforgettable. It was filled with memorable moments with friends, breathtaking sights."
